Most people are familiar by now with the Internet and have browsed to popular sites such as www.google.com or www.facebook.com, but have you taken a moment to think about the importance of their domain names? The domain name is the 'google.com' or the 'facebook.com' and if it wasn't for these easy to remember names it would be very challenging to find your favourite websites.
Now think about your clients, or your prospective future clients. Do you have an easy to remember and easy to type in domain name for your clients to find you on the internet? If you have a difficult to remember domain name, or one that is tricky to type in (ie: back to back same letters, mix of numbers and letters, etc.) or worse yet - you don't even have a domain name with a website, how can you expect your clients to connect with you? Yes! They might do a Google search or Facebook search for you, but that is risky because your competitors might show up in the results above you and you could lose that potential next deal. Here is a great article we found that talks more about domain names:
A personalized domain name requires registration and an annual fee from an accredited registrar. Our GoMax PLUS team can help out here and help get the best price for you, and can also take care of the technical steps involved.
Not only is the domain name important for your clients to find you, it is just as important to use an email address that incorporates your domain name. We see many brokers using the email address provided by their ISP (Internet Service Provider) and not a branded email address that promotes themselves. If you are using one of these ISP provided email addresses, talk to our GoMax PLUS team for assistance in getting setup with a dedicated email account using your own domain name.
I could go on forever regarding domain names and email addresses, but I'll leave that for future posts. Just remember that its more important to build your own brand by promoting yourself, not your ISP.
